A day of excellence project was implemented on Wednesday at Mu'tah University under the auspices of Prof. Dr. Zafer Sarayreh, President of the University. This project is funded by USAID and in cooperation with the Jordanian Society for Quality. Projects and activities aim at accelerating the dissemination of the concepts of excellence and raising awareness of its requirements. The idea of ​​this project / initiative to promote the achievement of government agencies to better results in the forthcoming sessions of the award, where the mechanism of this initiative to visit government institutions and spend a full day in that institution to spread the culture of excellence and raise the level of knowledge, and achieve their requirements to better levels.


This initiative is based on the visit of the public universities participating in the King Abdullah II Award for Excellence in Government Performance and Transparency as a qualification for the 2016/2017 course, and the holding of awareness workshops and training programs for stakeholders to guide and train them to work to develop their knowledge and skills in the field of excellence by providing educational and applied examples In the field of work of the university, in preparation for its participation in the next session of the award and to promote a culture of excellence in public universities as institutions that provide educational, research and community services.


At the outset, Dr. Ibrahim Al Rawabdeh, Executive Director of King Abdullah II Center of Excellence, delivered a speech in which he welcomed the attendees and outlined the objective of the workshop and the role played by the King Abdullah II Center for Excellence and the King Abdullah II Award for Excellence in Government Performance and Transparency in rooting concepts of excellence in our Jordanian institutions The potential of universities to bring institutional performance to a leading level is in line with what Jordan deserves. He then gave a brief explanation of the Accelerators of Excellence program and a day of excellence initiative and explained the characteristics of the excellence model, the basic principles of excellence, the criteria of the award and the evaluation mechanism adopted in the award.


In his speech, the Center's visit to the university came to support its excellence and to demonstrate that it develops the necessary systems, tools and work mechanisms that reflect the results exceeding expectations for the stakeholders to achieve more leadership and excellence befitting the university by passing what it has done on a global model of excellence to ensure the sustainability of excellence through Adopting the approach, applying it and measuring its results and impact to a set of standards of excellence that have been agreed upon globally so that the institution emerges distinct and concludes, God willing, to receive the award.​
